Response to Essay Feedback

So I've been thinking about my essay. In response to Mrs. Scott's feedback, which was very helpful, I realized I only wrote about half the picture as far as men being gentlemen. Even though I think some women would love it if young men showed chivalry on a day-to-day basis, it was women who pushed for equality. In a sense, it was young women that killed chivalry, not young men. Sure, I think women should be equal, and perhaps some would be offended if a man opened a door for her. I guess that fits more with this day and age. But what I was referencing in my essay is the fact that there are some women (like me) who aren't hyper-feminists and just want a guy to be a gentlemen. I'm probably in the minority, but I don't mean the essay to be that serious. I just like to day-dream and I love romance novels. So I wrote about why I thought girls in general usually love the idea of love and their Prince Charming's. But I think it goes both ways. Women have to act like ladies in order to get the kind of gentlemanly response I was talking about. So if I'm going to write about the perfect Mr. Darcy, I had better write about the perfect Elizabeth, too.

Oh, and as far as changing topics, my girlishness got the best of me and I didn't want to write another scientific paper. I don't mind formal papers, but if I had the chance to write about whatever I wanted, I was going to take it. :) It's so much more fascinating to write about Mr. Darcy.

Can you send me your essay? I'd like to read it. It seems to run along my sentiments on the topic. I think guys are also to blame because being the gentlemen can be hard work sometimes and guys are on the lazy side of the tracks most of the time.
