Response to Classmate Feedback

So after reading the classmate feedback, I realized I might need to revise a couple of things in my essay. I had thought about them but wasn't sure if they would be noticed. It turns out they were, so I need to clarify them. One is who my audience is. I intended my audience to be mostly single young women interested in Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship. I figured they would enjoy reading it just for the simple reason that they are probably in love with the book. And then I also knew that young men could possibly pick it up and find it interesting, since I mentioned Mr. Darcy's behavior and contrasted it with most men of today. I wasn't trying to dictate how men should act; instead I was exploring why women like Mr. Darcy so much. And it's because of his behavior and how most men of today don't act that way.

I generalized, too, and I may have sounded a bit extreme. I'll try to soften my words a little, or at least mention that I am stereotyping. I wasn't trying to bash every guy of today, I was just trying to prove a point. Anyway, I'm glad that was pointed out because it's something I think I should fix. Thanks for the feedback Robert!
